What happens on the day
Every commercial visit is organised around the operational needs of the building so work proceeds safely while staff and customers remain protected.
- Site walk and isolationWe meet the business owner or site manager to confirm the day plan and identify the specific circuits requiring work. We isolate only the necessary sections so non-affected areas of the building can remain powered whenever safe to do so.
- Containment and cable installationWe install cable basket, trunking or conduit along chosen routes before pulling through sub-main cables and circuit wiring. Sockets, three-phase isolators, switches and distribution boards are mounted securely to the building fabric.
- Termination and plant connectionCables are terminated into distribution boards and final accessories, connecting directly to machines, kitchen appliances, office points or retail displays. All terminations are labelled clearly at the consumer unit for future maintenance.
- Testing and live handoverWe carry out dead and live tests on each completed circuit to verify continuity, insulation resistance and earth fault loop impedance. Power is restored, systems are checked under load, and certification is prepared for your commercial records.

Can work take place while our business remains open?
In many commercial properties we isolate circuits section by section, allowing other areas of the business to continue operating normally. Where a full board shutdown is necessary, we plan the isolation period in advance so you can coordinate staff and trading times.
What documentation is provided after the installation?
We issue an Electrical Installation Certificate detailing the schedule of test results, circuit characteristics and protection devices fitted. As an installer registered with NAPIT, we also manage any required building control notifications on your behalf.
Do you install three-phase power supplies?
Yes. We install three-phase distribution boards, sub-mains, rotary isolators and supplies for industrial machinery, commercial ovens, workshop equipment and vehicle chargers.
Are you insured to work in commercial buildings?
MX2 Electrical holds two million pounds of public liability insurance covering commercial, industrial and domestic premises.
When can we discuss our installation requirements?
Our telephone line is answered at any time of day or night. Booked commercial installation visits and site surveys are scheduled into our standard working diary.
