What happens on the day
Every lighting appointment follows a structured sequence so that installation proceeds safely and leaves your property tidy.
- Safety checks and isolationWe arrive at the booked time, inspect the current layout, and isolate the supply at the consumer unit. Safe isolation procedures ensure all wiring is dead before any fixtures, switches or cables are touched.
- Cable runs and fitting installationOld units are taken down, new cables are drawn or existing wiring is prepared, and mounting points are secured firmly. Switch plates, rose bases, downlight housings and drivers are connected securely.
- Testing and clean handoverAfter restoring the supply, we test loop impedance and circuit continuity. We walk you through switch functions, check each lamp operates properly, and tidy away packaging and wire clippings.

Can you fit new lights using my existing wiring?
Yes, provided the existing wiring passes electrical safety tests and includes an appropriate protective earth. If cables show deterioration or lack adequate earth paths, we explain what updates are needed before proceeding.
Do you provide the light fittings or do I buy them?
You are welcome to provide your own preferred decorative fittings, pendants or chandeliers, or we can provide standard fittings, commercial panels and downlights suited to the space.
Are bathroom light fittings different from normal room lights?
Yes. Bathrooms contain specific moisture zones that require light fittings with appropriate Ingress Protection ratings to protect against water ingress and steam. We ensure all bathroom fittings match the required zone standards.
Will I receive a certificate after my lighting installation?
Yes. When new lighting circuits are installed or alterations are notifiable, work is certified through our NAPIT registration. Standard minor alterations still receive written records of the electrical test results.
Can you install two-way switches for stairs and corridors?
Yes. We configure multi-way switching setups so that lights in hallways, staircases and larger rooms can be turned on or off from multiple switch positions.
