What happens on the day
Each visit involves mounting the dish hardware, running exterior cabling securely indoors, and providing the necessary electrical feed for the unit.
- Site assessment and dish mountingWe inspect external walls and roof areas to identify the optimum position with an open view of the sky. The mounting bracket is bolted into solid masonry or structural timber to keep the dish stable in high winds.
- Cable feeding and entryThe network cable is secured along external walls using exterior-grade fixings. We feed the line into the property through a sealed entry point, keeping external runs discreet and protected against physical damage.
- Electrical connection and startupWe provide mains power for the indoor unit, connecting either to an existing socket or a newly installed fused spur. Once powered, we confirm that the dish establishes communication with the satellite network.
- Electrical certificationWhen an installation requires a new electrical circuit or modifications to a consumer unit, we complete all testing and hand over the relevant electrical certificate under our NAPIT registration.

Do you supply the Starlink dish and indoor unit?
No. You order the Starlink dish, base mount and indoor unit directly from Starlink. We attend to complete the physical mounting, run the cable through the building wall, and complete the electrical connections required for mains power.
Do I need planning permission for a dish in Canford Heath?
Standard residential houses generally do not require planning permission for a small satellite dish, provided size limits are respected. However, if your property is a listed building or subject to specific conservation rules, you should check local planning regulations before booking.
Can Starlink be fitted on commercial properties?
Yes. We install satellite dishes on commercial premises, offices, workshops and retail units. We secure the dish mount to flat roofs, parapet walls or structural framework and run cables to network distribution points or plant rooms.
How is power provided for the indoor hardware?
The indoor unit requires standard mains electricity. We can plug into an existing socket outlet if one is situated close by, or we can install a new fused connection unit or an extra socket wired directly back to your consumer unit.
What happens if extra wiring work is required?
If your installation requires a brand new circuit from the fuse box or protective bonding upgrades, we assess the work required and explain the details before starting. Any new circuit work is fully tested and certified under our NAPIT registration.
