What changes the price of EICR
EICR and electrical testing starts from £110. That starting price covers the inspection visit and the written Electrical Installation Condition Report, which is the formal name for an EICR.
- Larger houses, blocks of flats and commercial buildings take more circuits to test, so the starting price rises with the size of the installation.
- Repair work found during the inspection is quoted separately after the report is written.

Do landlords need an EICR?
Landlords of private rented homes in England need a current EICR for the tenancy. We inspect the installation the tenants use and leave the report for the tenancy file.
What do C1 and C2 mean on an EICR?
C1 means danger is present and the item should be made safe at once. C2 means it is potentially dangerous and should be repaired promptly. C3 is improvement recommended. FI means further investigation is needed.
