Electric shower installation and replacement starts from £150 for a like for like unit on an existing dedicated circuit. A new circuit or a higher kilowatt shower is quoted in writing first.
Do I need a new fuse board for an electric shower?
Not always. Many homes already have a dedicated shower circuit with RCD protection. We check cable size and the consumer unit on the visit. If the board cannot take the load, that work is a separate quote.
Is electric shower work notifiable?
New circuits in a bathroom and other notifiable electrical work are notified through our NAPIT registration. A like for like swap on an existing circuit is often not notifiable. We tell you which applies before we start.
Can you fit a more powerful electric shower?
Yes, if the dedicated cable, isolator and consumer unit can carry the extra load. A jump from a 7.5 kilowatt unit to a 9.5 or 10.5 kilowatt unit often needs a thicker cable. We quote that before we order the unit.
